Prairie Business Development Center
The City of Long Prairie was a recipient of a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant for the construction of an industrial business incubator building (Prairie Business Development Center). In addition to the EDA grant, the city was also presented with a gift from the Klick Foundation for construction of the building. The Klick Foundation was started by Stephen R. Klick as an act of charity and entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by his mother, Dorothy Klick.
The incubator building is located in the city’s new industrial park and will provide facilities for entrepreneurs to launch new service and manufacturing ventures. The building is a 15,000 sq. ft. building which is divided into four sections of various sizes to accommodate start up/existing industries. The building is located on a 4.14 acres parcel with ample truck/trailer, employee and customer parking. The building has an 18’ ceiling height, grade level overhead doors, building sprinkler system, in floor heat and air conditioned offices. Individuals may rent any or all available sections of the building.
Businesses locating in the building will be able to benefit from affordable industrial space and access to a support network dedicated to the success of their business.
